4 DAY PAINTING SCHOOL WITH STEWART BECKETT

Maximum 12 Spaces 

Date – Tues Aug 18th - Fri Aug 21th 2026

Time – 10am - 4 pm.

Location – ‘Palais Des Vaches’ Gallery, Lower Exbury Farm, Inchmery Lane, Exbury, Southampton.

 

This 3 day summer school is an opportunity to work 'En Plein Air' or in the studio inspired by the beautiful landscape surrounding the gallery. Developing your paintings over a longer period with helpful tuition and guidance. You will have indoor space to work in as well as the freedom to roam the grounds of lower Exbury house, taking in the wonderful views of the Beaulieu river and Isle of wight. Design as a small group for more individual attention and a deeper look at the language of painting.

 

The aims of the school:

• To learn how to work with Oil paints and other mediums.
• To develop and understand what makes an interesting composition
• To confidently progress the painting with helpful and supportive tuition.
• To feel more adapt at practicing on your own.
• To better understand colour and colour mixing
• To get a clearer idea of Tone
• To improve drawing skills and composition

 

All materials and lunch are included,

Coffee, Tea and Biscuits will be provided.

You are advised to wear old clothes or bring an apron to the session as it could get messy!
